Before I begin allow me a small...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
Last week's vote wasn't too successful, huh? Given the choice of Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe or Louis Saha as the new signing up-front the people chose the Manchester United hitman. Just to sum up, young Wayne scored no goals and Saha picked up one while Defoe smashed five past poor Chris Kirkland as Spurs rampaged all over Wigan.
Not being one to dish out blame, I will merely shrug my shoulders and mutter 'never mind'. There are another 24 gameweeks to come and plenty more points to pick up or miss out on.
Despite missing out on Defoe's massive haul, GW 13 still brought solid points to BloggersChoice, with Fulham's Clint Dempsey bringing in 30 of the 76 total thanks to a second half double against Blackburn on Wednesday night with Peter Crouch, David Dunn and Paul Konchesky all weighing with valuable points too.
So what does Gameweek 14 bring?
Well, two games tower over all others: Sunday's derby double – Everton v Liverpool and Arsenal v Chelsea.
In truth, they're a tricky pair to predict with the London game pitching the league's top scorers against the meanest defence while the Merseyside match-up brings two teams with illustrious histories but poor current form together.
Things couldn't be much more miserable in the good city of Liverpool this week with the Reds dropping out of the Champions League and Everton conceding three in the first half at Hull while going down to another defeat. Who knows how things will finish on Sunday...
Elsewhere, points look easier to come by. Another home game for Fulham looks like rewarding us admirers of Roy Hodgson's Cottagers with more points, while Manchester City will surely break that streak of draws at home to Hull. Much will depend on whether Jimmy Bullard makes it on to the pitch, though Wednesday's victory over Everton was achieved without him.
Tottenham's nine-goal heroes get a chance to prove it was no fluke when they go to Aston Villa – a key battle for two teams still nursing hopes of crashing the Champions League party.
Wigan have a shot at redemption at home to a potentially Darren Bent-less Sunderland, while manager-less Portsmouth host the champions.
The transfer this week was going to involve the Black Cats' nine-goal hero but initial reports of a hamstring injury have been allayed and the scoring machine can stay another week. He's earned it!
Out the door, however, is Everton's Tim Cahill who is not producing last season's form, though neither are Everton to be frank.
So, the choices are...
Manchester United's Antonio Valencia who has played every minute of the Reds' last five games scoring twice.
Tottenham's Aaron Lennon, who returned with a goal and three(!) assists against Wigan.
Sunderland's Andy Reid, the cheapest of the bunch but no less worthy for it.
